Bigger the worm…
Bigger the worm…
The bigger the worm used, the bigger fish caught. true or not? well if you think true, your probably from south east asia.
My point is, after living in Malaysia for about seven years, on and off, I have noticed that size matters, its true, its not about quality, its about how much equipment you have and how much crap you can talk.
Gift of the gab and the added bonus of photoshop.
I just did a shoot for a regional magazine, and during one of the shots, we were not getting what we wanted, I looked at the picture editor, and her face told me everything I needed to know.. She said to me her last photographer, brought, massive flash system, all the works for her last shoot, I just replied, that’s not me, you hired me to shoot for you because you liked my style in photography.
It wasn’t fact that no arranging for the shoot was made, it was on a sunday, the bar was 100% empty, need I go on?
What kind of photographer would I be if I copied another, also, why couldn’t they just hire a local, where they would be guaranteed a show of unlimited redundant equipment, and of course photoshop.
Do you think Terry Richardson gets frowned upon when he pulls out his two point and shoot cameras, or jurgen teller with is flash mounted on his camera? I don’t think so, and if your saying to yourself who the hell are they, then, I think you should go and read malay mail or something.
As one of my art school historian lecturers said to me once, he said, Paul, your a bloody artist, so why are you wasting all of your time in the computer room? any idiot can learn a computer program, but not everyone can learn to be an artist.
Photography is an Art, not a computer program!
