Before I print my final exhibition prints I generally make a lot of smaller test prints. These prints determine which paper I will use, whether it’s matt, gloss or semi, Where I should scratch or bleach my prints and how I should paint the photograph if I choose to use colour.
Although these photographs are tests before the final print, they are, in their own right, also originals.
I have often thought what I should do with my tests, should I keep them, shelve them or even bin them. I think they are a very important part of my work and they show the processes of how I got to the final prints.
Most of the prints will have some notes written on the reverse, ranging from enlarger and filter settings to printing times.
I have a lot of prints to upload so be patient. Also if there’s any image you are interested and want to see the tests, please drop me a message to paul@paulgadd.com or insta DM paul_gadd
All print Prices are inclusive of postage.
My prints are all printed on Ilford fibre papers and come without a matt board. If you prefer a card board matt around your print I can get this done but will be charged at cost.
